Body Swap Blunder: Man in Female Form Arrested for DUI — Police Unsure Where to Jail Him

ATLANTA, GA — What started as a glamorous night out in a new body turned into a legal head-scratcher for 54-year-old Chase Anderson, who was arrested for driving under the influence after partying in a sequined jumpsuit and heels — while occupying a 24-year-old, curvy female body.

Now, authorities are stumped over a critical logistical issue: where exactly to jail him.

“His license says ‘Chase Anderson, male, 54,’” explained Officer Dana Wilcox of the Atlanta Police Department. “But the body he’s currently operating is female-presenting, 5’6” in heels, with wide hips and a lot of glitter. So… yeah. We have a situation.”

A Wild Night in Someone Else’s Skin

According to police, Anderson recently purchased a new body from Body Shoppe, opting for what catalogues describe as the “Glam Femme Model 24C”: a compact, toned female frame with high cheekbones, enhanced joint agility, and “club-ready” hips.

Friends say he’d been looking forward to “trying something different” for months.

“He’s always said he missed his 20s,” said longtime friend Ron Hastings. “I just didn’t know he meant like... physically.”

Anderson reportedly spent over an hour perfecting his look — including a gold sequined jumpsuit, synthetic lashes, and four-inch stilettos — before heading to Velvet Echo, a popular downtown club. Surveillance footage shows Anderson dancing atop a speaker and ordering what appears to be a third Cosmo with a confident finger point and a shimmy.

Unfortunately, as police later explained, “he forgot to adjust his alcohol tolerance settings.”

“He was used to his old metabolism — a 200-pound man’s frame,” said Officer Wilcox. “But now he’s in a 120-pound body. The drinks hit a lot harder.”

Witnesses say Anderson left the club singing Whitney Houston at full volume and attempting to unlock a car that wasn't his before stumbling into the correct one.

He was pulled over ten minutes later after running a red light, blowing a 0.17 on the breathalyzer — more than twice the legal limit.

Gendered Jail Gridlock

Once in custody, the real confusion began.

“He looks like a young woman, sounds like a young woman, but when he handed us his ID, we were like... okay, now what?” said booking officer Maria Densmore. “This is the first time this has happened here. Our holding cells are still strictly divided by gender.”

The precinct’s women’s facility refused to admit Anderson, citing potential policy violations, while the men’s wing was deemed “potentially unsafe” due to the current body Anderson inhabits.

“We’ve had to hold him in a neutral conference room with two security officers on rotation,” said Lt. Reggie Gomez. “He’s curled up in the chair, complaining about his heels and asking for ginger tea.”

Legal Loopholes and Bodily Identity

The incident has reignited debate over jail policies in the age of bodily reassignment and body leasing.

“Technically, we jail people based on their legal identity, not the body they happen to be using,” said Ava DuPont, a legal analyst specializing in biometric law. “But when their physical safety, privacy, and presentation are at odds with paperwork, we’re entering uncharted territory.”

A Body Shoppe representative declined to comment on the incident, but acknowledged that their current bodies “are not issued with arrest contingency plans.”

“We strongly advise customers to familiarize themselves with local laws regarding bodily presentation and intoxication,” the representative added.
